Scope of Learning


Participants will develop the elements of team building and group work necessary to effectively participate as a effective and efficient group in their working environment. They will become aware of the ways in which groups work, people communicate, common goals are reached, and the roles people play in groups, and develop the skills necessary to transfer these learnings into the work environment.

 

They will be involved in a range of both cooperative and competitive group activities to develop the specific skills as well as the opportunity to demonstrate a variety of roles within the group. Participant participation will be closely watched and individual strengths and weaknesses will be utilized to improve group performance.

 

Specific Detail - Participants will:


  •  Demonstrate effective leadership skills to assist the group to achieve a common goal.
  • Provide and respond to appropriate, critical feedback to improve the performance of self and others.
  • Perform confidently as a participant in activities.
  • Apply knowledge of group work to achieve goals of individual sessions.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills to negotiate as an individual within a group.

  • Uses feedback from self and others to improve performance cognitively and socially.
